Make the list of things into a silly story, and visualise it as vivdly as you can.
e.g you have to remember to feed the cat, buy some toothpaste, e-mail a friend and mow the lawn.
So you imagine feeding the toothpaste to the cat , the cat jumps back offended when it smells the toothpaste on its saucer, tripping your friend up who slides on the toothpaste and ends up sitting in the middle of a pile of lawn cuttings.

Join the club ( there isn't really a club to join, it's just an expression, there may well be a club that I either don't know about or that I've forgotten about ) If you have to remember important times and dates, then ( I can't remember what I was going to tell you, honest, got it ) try word association, like em I can't think of any examples right now. I try the word association thingy and sometimes it works, however I can't guarantee that it does since I can't think of anything to whatsit. Let people know that you have a problem and hopefully they'll understand then that takes some of the pressure off you, and you may be able to remember things without too much pressure put on you. Good luck, I know what you're going through, I honestly do. Cheers....

It is not unusual to forget things on your mental list of things. I do not know anyone who hasn't ever walked into a room and thought "what did I come in here for?" or who hasn't forgotten an appointment. When I go to the store, I make a shopping list so that I don't forget things. Other than writing everything down, you can make a mental list with associations to other things that will help you to remember.

I do not wish to get personnel and ask your age, but the older you get, the more chance you have of forgetting things.
I have to write everything down to remind me of things, although I have lots of things to remember.
There is no cure, that I know of, that can help memory loss. An informal chat with your GP may give help and advice, but maybe you just have too much on your mind.
If you have something important to remember, try associated with something important in your life, or to remember a name, go through the alphabet in your mind. This can sometimes help.

i don't be responsive to for my section every physique, yet as a caregiver at a retirement village, strokes frequently bring about reminiscence loss... besides the fact that i've got suggested that's short term reminiscence that worsens. i don't be responsive to all the clinical motives, yet strokes influence the recommendations as do T.I.A.s (i think of they're like mini strokes, although, im no longer a registered nurse)... So your dad isn't unusual in showing reminiscence loss... even although the surgeon could be proper approximately being uncertain to whether it's going to be everlasting.

A common problem believe me, you are not the only scatter brain so don't worry about it!
There are lots of techniques you can used to improve your memory, such as mnemonics, and many others - its too much to explain on here, but check out this website:
http://www.mindtools.com/memory.html
Remember - practice makes perfect - practice these techniques and you'll soon be able to remember your entire weeks shopping list!

Check urself by memorising some things on a daily basis as a daily excercise and check whether ur good at numbers or alphabets...
Play games according to that... on a daily basis
This memory could be increased very slowly but try out it will definitely work...
It has worked out for me....
