"You are going to hell" That's what you say to people who ask you questions? I thought Christians were suppossed to be concerned and caring about their neighbor (or any person they come in contact with) Why cant you say it a differant way- like "the path of heaven is with Jesus" or "by accepting Jesus you have been accepted by God" You all sound like jerks. No wonder I know so many people who fled from christianity toward other religions as fast as they could.

I am concerned.Preaching hellfire and brimstone is not always going to be the best way to start off a conversation.Every single one of us are different. Some people go off at the mere mention of Jesus Christ or all religions for that matter. Then some are willing to here what some people say with an open mind. Some people who witness to others don't always think out what their going to do,and how their going to do it.Some people are given the gift of bringing souls to Christ. Some stumble when they try.

People that witness to others cannot and will not ever be able to make someone believe. There holy mandate is to bring the gospel to the masses, and have grace when doing so.Not everybody can find that fine line.

Next time someone witnesses to you,and you feel their wrong.Tell them to stop, and to remember the way Jesus did it.He did it with grace, love, and adhering to his father's law.

Peace be unto you.

I agree that the message can be put in such a way that the hearer won't just turn away and walk off or log off.

In an answer as to why a Christian would say that would be because they care for you and don't want you to end up in hell (separated from God) for eternity.

It would be like if we were in an airplane and we knew it was going to crash. I would hope that you cared enough to hand me a parachute, even if the idea of parachutes offended me.

Salvation is the bottom line of what all Christians should be testifying about. Salvation from the payment for sin. Sin brings the punishment of separation from God (an eternity in hell). The only acceptable payment for that sin is the precious blood that Jesus shed on the cross. It is by accepting and following Him that we are saved.

SO, if I were talking to you I would let you know what the gospel is all about. If you were interested I would offer a bible & let you know where to start reading it and let you know that if you had any questions I would be glad to help you find the answer in scripture.

Email me if you are interested in bible study...

I don't know about other Christians, but I don't say that. I have friends who are Christians, and friends who are not. I respect their beliefs, and I am truly interested to find out about their faith.

I had the most wonderful conversation with a Hindu couple, who sat next to me for 7 hours on a plane trip.

If you are a true follower of Christ, you don't point the finger. Perhaps the people you are referring to are caught up in "religion", and not the true meaning of love, looking at each and every person as a creation of God, and loving them as God loves them.

Don't point the finger at all Christians, just because you've run into a few who do this.

Jesus talked more on hell than He did on heaven. Even so Jesus never told anyone they were going to hell. So if a Christian has told you this let me apologize to you on their behalf. No one should tell you this. Your decision to accept Jesus as your personal Savior is between you and God. Your eternal resting place is totally up to you. God has provided the Way to heaven the choice is totally yours.( John 14:6) Again, I apologize to you for what other Christians have told you about where you will be when you pass on from this earth.

I agree with what you say. Many Christians obviously have failed. I would flee to another country if I were an unbeliever because this nation will be punished if Christians do not get the true message. God is love. He does want us to be relaxed and happy. To be blessed and enjoy life. To make the gospel perspicuous.I am sorry that some Christians have been ignorant and made you feel bad. The true message is comforting and not upsetting.

Some Christians have genuinely bought into this hooey about following the straight and narrow path or else it's the Lake of Fire and getting munched on by Satan. Hell was invented to keep people in line out of fear of a terrible penalty, and it has worked for many.

Humanists are dedicated to living moral, fruitful lives, but we don't need the bribe of heaven or the threat of hell to prod us into line. There are better reasons to be good than "if you don't, the Bogey Man will get you."

I always find it amusing when a Christian tells me to go to hell. Do they even realize that Atheists don't believe in the concept of hell? Religion turns people into brainless puppets.

Just to be fair though, I do hate all religion equally, it's not just Christians. I believe that religion is the biggest threat to world peace and that the world would be a wonderful place if there was no religion at all.

If there was such a place the ones who are telling people that would probably be the first in line to go there for taking it upon themselves of being a self appointed god. Those type should be more tactful at least.

Also ive noticed they never use any verses of love and compassion but seem to be more than eager to use the condemning verses when quoting scripture.

Until a person is converted it won't matter what you say they will keep on slandering others.Jesus said to Peter long after he became a follower of him....Peter when thou art converted strengthen the brethren.Peter had not been converted yet either. It is a process that only takes place when you are pure in heart.
It really isn't any ones place unless God has told us to tell someone they are going to hell to say that.It isn't a surprise to me either why people flee,it is best to study the word of God to be approved by God that our own life is what it should be.

If questions lead to the conclusion that the questioner is non-beliver, how do u expect the Christians to conduct the way u r suggesting. In fact, if some one annoys u with his questions, which cud even be contemptuous, about the prophet of ur religion, how would u react.
