It shouldn't matter if you have a prescription for the pill you used.

It depends on what drug it was and what type of test is being administered. Different drugs remain in different parts of your system for different periods of time. Many drugs can be detected in your hair from the time of usage until the hair falls out or is shaved off. Drugs may be detected in the blood stream or urine for only a few days or for a month or more.
However, if the drug you used is not illegal, or you can show that you had a perscription for it, it should not be a problem for it to show up in your screening. If that is the case, and you know that you're going to test positive for it, you might as well disclose that immediately. Something along the lines of, "I broke my hand on Sunday and was given a perscription for Vicodin, which I took that day."

As stated in the other answers, each drug molecule has a different value for the time it stays in the body due to many different factors, it will also be dependant on your factors such as kidney and liver function.
The other side of it is, if you took some street pill, God only knows what is in it and so even if you told us what you think is in it theres probably a load of other detectable stuff floating around your body.

If you just took it for a week or so ,It should clear within 3 to 5 days. If you have been on it a 6 months or more it could take up to 3 to 4 months for it all to get out of your system. Drinking lots of water will speed up the process.

percoset 10mg will stay with you for a few days. It is a relatively long lasting drug. You should not have taken it from your friend. If your doctor had wanted you to have such a painkiller they would have prescribed it. You may be in trouble but it just depends on your own metabolism.

im glad that nobody can spell percocet. And i gaurentee you didnt take percocet, you most likely took Oxycodone HCl / APAP. For reasons unknown to me, you say you broke your hand then had to borrow one of your friends painkillers? This sounds like the worst story you could have ever made up. If you broke you hand you would have went to the doctor, and doctors without a doubt will prescibe hydrocodone at the least, for a broken hand. But I wont shoot you down for takin it. Im sure it was fun and ive taken them before too. Considering your drug screen is more than a week away, you will be absolutely fine.
