This can be scary for you and your pet. The best thing for you is to stay calm and remind yourself if you are stressed your dog will know and it will stress her more and increase the possibility of complications. If you are the one she is most comfortable around you don't have to lock her up, you can be around her, get a box or dog kennel(crate) put it in a quiet place where it is out of the way of normal household traffic. You will have to watch her and about the time you start to feel or see the puppies moving you will need to be sure and have everything ready.Be sure she doesn't have any other hiding places other than the area you provided and the other dogs are not around her. It usually is a little long the first time, she will be really uncomfortable do alot of panting and possible whine for some attention. When she starts pushing do not disturb her, just watch to be sure she is not having trouble. Have a vets number already chosen and ready in case there are any problems. If you don't seperate her and provide her with a quiet place she will definitaly have trouble. Not providing her with a space, you will find puppies somewhere under something and a huge mess to clean up and it will leave stains! She should do all the cleaning herself, it will cause her stress if there a lot of people around looking and talking. Instinct should take over and she should be a great mom. When the mom is completely finished you will need to change the bedding so it is clean and dry. The mom dog will still have discharge for quite a while after so you will have to provide fresh bedding every few days or so. You will be able to tell. Don't hesitate to call the vet with questions. Your pet desirves the best care possible. The mom dog will be very very protective of her litter. Provide her with food and water all the time, she will need it!!!

Yes. keep her in a quiet room. Not to small. If it has a window keep it open so she can have some fresh air. Let her get comfortable. Give her blankets and pillows. What ever she needs. Also give her water. Keep her away so she doesn't get stressed while having them. If she gets to stressed she might now have the puppies right then. Just keep an eye on her though. But don't bug her. Let her be. You wouldn't want other arounds while you were having a baby would you. Also take her to the vet to see when she is do. I wouldn't keeep her there to have the babies. Because most dogs don't like having them. Or they don't like going to the vets. Because they may think that they ahve to get a shot or something else. Just try to be with her though. Dont' be at work . She could go into labor and have some trouble. YUou never know. My friends dog went into labor and she died because no one was there. The puppies died inside of her too. It was sad. But good luck. <33 i bet that they will be adorable.<3

You do need to keep her away from the other dogs. If you know when they mated it's anywhere from 56 to 63 days after that that she should deliver her puppies. Another thing that might help you approximately 24 hours before having the puppies her temp will drop generally a dogs temp. will be between 101 and 102 when it drops to about 98 you have 12-24 hours. Look up all the information you can you will need to know what to do if she has problems delivering or if you get a puppy that is not breathing, you can revive them if you don't wait to long. Please look these things up to help yourself and your little dog. You need to be sure to be there for her when she does have them my great dane just had her second litter in September and I took 2 days off work so I could be there with her. This being her first litter she will be scared and not quite sure what's going on.

Wow. You are in over your head here, let's see what I can do...
Do you know when she was bred to the male? If you go 63 days from the breeding date you will have the due date. The pregnancy lasts 9 weeks.
You don't have to separate the dogs right now. As she gets nearer to her date you are going to need to set up a whelping box. A children's small pool works great. Line it with newspaper and towels and encourage her to go in there often. When she is within a day of delivering, she will be very uncomfortable, her belly is large and she looks and acts a little different, kennel the other dogs. She needs to not be distracted by them when it's delivering time. You will need to be there during the birth and for the puppies.
Get a couple books on breeding and raising puppies. I love this one, The Whelping and Rearing of Puppies by Muriel Lee.
You absolutely have to know what is going to happen and how to handle it. She is also a little too young for motherhood so you need to be prepared with formula and puppy bottles in case she is not nursing and being a good mother. Sometimes they don't do so well when they are so young.
Good luck!

Definitely keep her away from the other dogs when it comes time to deliver. You also need to get her in to see your vet as soon as possible and for regular check ups for the pregnancy.
When we got our Dachshund from a reputable breeder, one thing they mentioned to us is that they tend to have a hard time delivering and a C-section is often needed as the mom is unable to deliver on her own. So you need to check with your vet, get his opinion and find out what a possible C-section is going to cost you if it's needed. I hear it can cost up to $500 to have one done.
Get on the web and do some searching specifically for Dachshund breeding to make sure you have some idea of what you're in for. This is also going to possibly be even harder as a female of your pups age should not be bred yet. 2 yrs old is the minimum and she could end up having many more complications as a result.

Not the best situation, the mom is so young she may have complications during delivery. Take her to the vet to see how far along she is, then request to have an x-ray taken when she is about 8 weeks along so you know how many pups to expect. Once you know how many to expect start finding good homes immediately. When she has the pups you should get the mom spayed.

when my family dog is having puppys we allways keep her away from other dogs so she wont get stressed out and she can be relaxed during the birthing prossess also we do that so in case she has her puppys one day when were out the other dogs wont kill or eat her puppys you should most defenitly take her to the vet to get her checked out if you dont something might be wrong with one of the puppys and you wouldnt be prepared for when she has them put her in a fenced in area if she is an outside dog or in a open kennel area in the house if she is an inside dog or a small dog

PLEASE have her spayed as soon as you can after she has the pups. That way she cannot become pregnant again. Breeding any animal should only be undertaken by a very knowledgeable person, which you do not appear to be. It is not fair to the mother or the pups to be bred by someone who does not know what they are doing. She needs to see a vet NOW. Do not put it off. All kinds of complications can arise during a pregnancy, especially in smaller breed dogs such as dachsunds.

oh dear. How come you don't know when they are due. What date was she mated on? You can work it out from that date. I think you need to get her to a vet to have a check up and start reading now on what is involved and how to recognise when things go wrong. Then get both of your dogs neutered so that she doesn't end up pregnant every 6 months.
You will need to keep them away from her while she is giving birth and when she has the puppies.
Leave breeding to people who know what they are doing. If something went wrong and you didn't know how to recognise the fact, your poor ***** could die in agony or you could lose the pups.
