What are some good questions to ask an intern who works for a US Senator for a school project?

I'm doing a project for school interviewing someone, but I'm not sure what questions to ask. These questions should focus on the recent elections that just took place. Any ideas on what I could ask this intern?

To start with, you may ask: How many senators are unfit to be senators though elected? A second question could be: How many of them are involved in unreported scandals? ....and so on!
