I have a litter of Beagle puppies that are 8 weeks old. 4 days ago I noticed the runt had lost weight and wasn't eating and when he would drink he threw up. I took him to the vet, and he didn't know what was wrong but he gave me some worming medicine and some other medicine to help sooth his stomach. Well, the next day he was fine, but 2 of my other puppies are now sick. I have went through the whole worming cycle, 1CC a day for 3 days, and they are still throwing up bile with diarhea and they won't drink water. They also threw up the last dose of medicine. Do I keep giving them the worming medicine? Is that normal to throw up worming medicine? The vet gave my 1st sick puppy a shot of "fluids" tha left a bubble on his side until the morning. Should I take my sick pups to get that shot?

The vet said that he was sure it wasn't parvo, he said that throwing up bile is not a symptom of parvo.

I would consider getting a second opinion. Worming medication can make them throw up, but it usually resolves itself quickly. It certainly sounds like parvo because if they have nothing else in their stomaches, they will naturally throw up bile--that's all there is. I really would check with another vet--you can't be too careful with little pups because they can dehydrat eso quickly.

Don't give any more dewormer. If they are vomiting it back up it's not worth giving right now. I think your puppies may have an intestinal virus. Since they are having such bad diarrhea and vomiting it is important that you hold off feeding them for 24 hours, then when they do eat, make it small and mild.. rice, boiled chicken, very mild foods.
But, since they are puppies they are at extreme risk for dehydration. You need to get those puppies to the vet right away. Have them teach you how to adminster fluids with a shot that you can do at home. Hopefully they will make it past this illness.
I lost most of a litter a year ago from a virus. It sucks. Just try to keep them hydrated and warm for now and get them in to the vet.

Have your pups received any of its puppy shots? I am not talking about the fluids the vet gave the pup under the skin. They should have had a round of the regular puppy shots. You need to take the pups back to the vet and find out what is wrong with them. They can get dehydrated very quickly.

Vomiting and diarrhea is never good in puppies. Worming medication often gives them diarrhea, and sometimes they throw up the worms that were in their stomach. I think you should talk to your vet. I would take the puppies in. I'm sorry to tell you this, but it could be something like Parvo Virus or Currona Virus (sp). If they have not yet been vaccinated there is a higher chance that it could be one of those. THey are common viruses in puppies tha cause vomiting and diarrhea. I would take your puppies in and ask your vet about it. Take them in as soon as you can. Good Luck!

by taking the pup to the vet you may have brought home disease. Young pups should be seen in the home by a vet not taken to the vet. Stop giving the worm med's and phone the vet. What is the name of the worm medicine you were given?

do no longer provide to any extent further dewormer. in the event that they are vomiting it returned up it is not nicely worth giving good now. i think of your domestic canines would have an intestinal virus. because of the fact they are having such undesirable diarrhea and vomiting that's significant which you carry off feeding them for twenty-four hours, then whilst they do consume, make it small and basic.. rice, boiled rooster, very basic meals. yet, because of the fact they are domestic canines they are at severe possibility for dehydration. you will desire to get those domestic canines to the vet good away. Have them prepare you basic techniques to adminster fluids with a shot which you're able to do at domicile. with any luck they'll make it previous this ailment. I lost maximum of a clutter a 12 months in the past from an endemic. It sucks. only attempt to maintain them hydrated and heat for now and get them in to the vet.

It's not normal for them to quit eating and drinking. Have they had shots? Sounds like they have the classic symptoms of parvo, best to take them in and get them checked out. I hope everything turns out alright.

find another vet, sounds like they have parvo and they could die if not taken care of immediately.
