If people misunderstand or misrepresent the character of God, does that make Him any less God? Is He no longer the creator because Darwin says He isn't. Is God no longer all powerful because He gives people the freedom of choice? If God is misrepresented as being unjust, unkind, hateful, vengeful, a terrrible tyrant, do these accusations make it so? God's ways are above our ways, His thoughts are above our thoughts. Mankind can not even begin to understand the mind of God or His reasons for acting in some situations and not acting in others. God gives us enough information about Himself in nature, in the Bible, and in the daily life to come to a knowledge of Him that leads to trust in His wisdom even when it conflicts with ours.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures...
Read your Bible. We ought to Obey God rather than man. A lot of people misunderstand and misrepresent God and His Holy Word that is why we should study (2 Timothy 2:15)the scriptures everyday. God's word says the same thing to everyone and is under no private interpretation. It is our own fault if we make a mistake, God does not make mistakes.

We all have free will. If you truly are seeking the gospel will be made perspicuous to you.I do not understand why people on this site seem to be so angry. The Bible that I study teaches a relaxed mental attitude and an appreciation for Free choice. People like the guy who told me to shut the f up are puzzling. It makes me want to talk all the more. So you may want to use some reverse psychology next time. Satan is the father of GOOD and evil. He wants the Bible to be misunderstood. He is obviously succeeding if people think that I am way out of line.Thank God for freedom. Thank God for all of you that disagree with me. Praise to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I cannot wait to wipe a demon off the face of the Earth.

I don't think they should be rejected, but people do anyway just like they reject the whole teachings of Christ. The world isn't going to understand the Bible or it's teachings because it's the world we are talking about. They are not of Christ.
There are lots of beliefs and opinions out there and we as Christians just need to make sure we are taking our stand for Christ and reading our bibles and listening to what God is telling us to do or where to go. We need not fall into the deceit that is spread throughout but rather hang onto the truth.
I hope just because the world rejects God or the Bible, that we don't. We shouldn't. I think it could in the end have dire consequences.

i would say yes because people wrote the bible, banned stuff from it because it didn't fallow what they believed or it became so popular they feared people would leave the church. so i truly believe the bible should be rejected. Personally i feel the bible was written to direct people in the direction of a few peoples beliefs. if you make it objective and put everything in it and instead of translating it learn the language it was written in (translations don't work because everything doesn't translate) I may be more opt to believe it. as is i wouldn't believe it any farther than i could throw an 18 wheeler

If someone where to misinform you about a feature on your car, should you reject your car? If someone misunderstood your spouse, should you reject your marriage? If someone miscounted your change at the store, should you denounce all money?
The misunderstanding and the misrepresentation should be reject. The true about both God and the Bible should be kept.

No but you need to be very careful about simply believing what someone tells you. The story of the prodigal son is the key to understanding the true teachings of Jesus but it is always misinterpreted and spun to mean almost the exact opposite of what it actually was intended to teach us.
It is portrayed by religion to be a story of forgiveness. Forgiveness requires that some action has been judged as wrong.
If you actually read the story you can see that at no time did the father ever judge the son in any way. For this reason no forgiveness was called for.
Jesus was trying to teach us that Gods never judged us for any reason, but his message was to radical for the keepers of the faith so they fixed it for Jesus and teach what they think he meant to say rather than what he actually said.
Love and blessings Don

No.
I can make examples: if the police are misrepresented by people, should you reject the police? if the teachers in your school are misrepresented, should you reject the teachers? if the government is misrepresented, should you reject the government? if you are misrepresented, should people reject you? if your wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend is misrepresented by people, should you reject him/her? if your job is misrepresented by people, should you reject your paycheck? The answer to all of these is no. Misrepresenting something is no reason to reject it.

What if someone misrepresented the air that you breathe? Would you hold your breath?
God will not judge you on what someone else misrepresented-He will judge you on what you represent.
