No the Bible and God should be left alone.

Sadly it is the extremistChristians that have misunderstood it and turned the holy word into something perverted.

In England The Christian union - a non-denominational body is now seen as representing the more extreme wing of evangelicalism, and is dogmatic and anti-intellectual in its approach. Its enthusiasm for the Bible does not extend to scholarly or critical study of it, and it is intolerant of Christians with differing views.

The University and Colleges Christian Fellowship (UCCF), has tried to hijack, hold to ransom and then monopolise the title “Christian Union”. A tactic adopted by other conservative evangelical groups who also like to monopolise words such as “evangelical”, “orthodoxy”, “biblical”, “mainstream” and “Gospel”, as witnessed within the current debates in the Anglican Communion over issues of sexuality, and the ordination of women.

Universities are now taking action to curb their excesses and the need for such action illustrates just how much damage these people are doing to the Christian church.

Around the world there are many who view the extremism from a few Christians as very allarming. In one or two countries laws have been passed and I think we will see more.

It has even gone as far as The Evangelical Alliance in a report titled "Faith and Nation" recent published to suggest "Violent Revolution".

Sound likely that if the Christian church does not act quickly to curb these extremists then the Church as a whole will suffer serious damage.

Will we see Christian terrorists? Even civil war? Sounds like that is what these people are heading for!!

We can only hope that sensible Christians will act to restore the true faith and promote love, forgiveness and tolerance!

LOTS of people misrepresent them..No, don't reject them. Just read it for yourself, and interpret it the way you see fit. It's ok if you don't understand every single word. It's a good book full of good stories.

That is a personal decision. The more you read, pray and seek, the more you will have an understanding. I have trouble understanding Shakespeare sometimes, but if I reread it, ask questions, then it becomes obvious. Faith works that way too.

God and the Bible are like Hip Hop, you might not understand it but you have to respect it. It's kind of like the way of nature you might not understand what makes what or how, but you have to respect that it does what it does.
