Attached you'll find a link for eye circles from Wikipedia. As you will see, they can be caused by many things, but from your description I would think your problem is hereditary.

I would think that the very best way for you to minimize them is to use a sunblock, just in case it's a high pigmentation problem. And to use a concealer stick that will cover up this dark colouration. Ask at the makeup counter of any reputable department store, which colour concealer would be best for you.

Aside from more sleep, I use cosmetics. I have dark circles under my eyes as well and I find that Nutrogena-Morning Lift (it comes in an orange tube) works best. It's made to treat the circles under the eyes. Although when the circles are really bad I add a concealer stick treatment to the make-up process as well. I find that this works best for me and I hope that it helps you as well.

have you tried a lilac coloured concealer? Use a tiny bit of lilac concealer to cover it. Also ysl touche eclat is very good.

The skin around the eyes is very delicate so try not to touch it as it could be broken capillaries under the skin. Drink 2.5 litres of water per day and try to get 8 hours sleep per night

Have you been tested for anemia? as dark circles are sometimes a sign

I have dark circles
Yesterday I brought a cream by Nivea, its only a tiny pot and its about £4 I have used it 3 times and already my under eyes look brighter
I'm sorry I don't know the name of the cream I just know it is made by Nivea and it is specifacally for dark eyes. I asked the lady in Boots for help and she advised me to use this cream.
I am already happy with the results so far.

well you could try and sleep longer or heavier.. You get circles under your eyes when you don't sleep enough or your body isn't fully rested. so try sleeping more

also make up if you are women would help (concealer) if you use make up you just have to make sure it is the right color for your skin otherwise everyone will know

but you should definitely not cover up all of your eye circles cuz that looks really fake

I have heard that it is nothing to do with sleep, contrary to popular opinion. It is just your colouring and because of this you can only change it with make up. Not sure about cosmetic surgery though.

i had them when i was younger, mine have gone now, i didn't use anything or sleep more, they just got lighter and eventually went, you might be lucky and thay my go like mine did, but cosmetic surgery can get rid of them if you want then gone right now, if you do ,think long and hard about doing it first.

for a non surgical solution, when your eating breakfast in the morning, put a damp flannel in the freezer for five minutes, then relax for another five minutes with it pressed onto your eyes. you will be circle free guarenteed!
