Practice your receptive skills by watching English t.v., I recommend CNN. Watch actively in short bursts and listen to what is said and the way it is said.
For productive skills, in this case talking, find a native speaker if you can and converse with them. Listen to how they communicate and try to replicate it. If you already targeted your problem areas (making proper "l" sounds)= tongue curls up to roof of the mouth... find a book on phonetics and tongue positions and practice.
Good luck.

the best ways are:
1. watch discovery channels, national geographic or hallmark and listen to bbc programmes- if you want the british accent. for american accent watch cnn or american films.
2. try to get magazines with tapes or cd- speak up is a magazine in italian and english, with very good articles and interviews. any such magazine would do, actually
3. if there are any native speakers in your area try to make friends with them- the solution is related to listening and speaking, not reading and writing. you have to practise the language actively
4. if you know of any group preparation for english, join such a group- even if they are not native speakers, the teacher can help you with the pronunciation and accent. of course you may take private lessons, but it's cheaper if you study with a group.
good luck! hope i helped you somehow
