If I am taking my dog to the vet for a ultra-sound what is to be expected? She will be 5 weeks on Thursday which is when we are taking her. Will we be able to see the pups or just blobs?

At least you are taking care of her.

I think they look like blobs even after they are born. I rescued a white GSD that was pregnant and I called them fat wiggle worms. They are three weeks today and starting to look like puppies.

you should be able to see blobs. The vet will be able to tell you how many she is having. This is very valuable knowledge so that you will know when she has finished whelping or if she might have a pup stuck inside.

A dog's pregnancy is about 63 days long, so if she is five weeks along, you should be able to see the puppies.

Dog pregnancy lasts about 6 weeks, so you should be able to see puppies.
