Back in the 80's I had cancer. I had to have 16 abdominal surgeries in a 4 year period. In December of 88 I got really sick and they told my husband that there was nothing they could do for me. They called my in-laws and my parents and said if they wanted to see me alive, they had better get to the hospital that night. My family drove 9 hours in each direction to see me. They had a priest come in and read me my last rights and everything.
I went home 3 weeks later, not in the best of health but well enough to leave the hospital. I had a doctor who came by my house every day, a nurse that came by daily and a pharmacist that came by every other day because I had to go home on a bunch of machines. It was a long road to recovery but I made it. That is the closest I have ever been to death.

Yes, I fractured my skull when I was 21 and my parents were told it was 50-50 whether I'd make it through the night. I did though, and made an almost perfect recovery. I still get dizzy sometimes and my sense of smell, which I lost, only partially came back, and I reckon my brains are like scrambled eggs these days - but pregnancy had a lot to do with that too!

Yes I had a misdiagnosed blood clot in my leg, it ended up going through my heart and lungs I was 23. It has made me appreciate things though especially as my Mum went through the same thing when I was 11. The strange thing was at the time I just got on with it it was only after that realisation struck - heavily.

yes, I almost died once (I was attacked at knifepoint) - for quite a while it gave me a real appreciation for living - but that was many years ago & human nature being what it is, I'd lapsed on that feeling. So today at least, thanks to your question, I'll try and remember the simple joy of living! Have a good one!

Once, I was on a plane, and the guy behind me started freaking out, saying that the plane was going to explode. Anyways a fight broke out and him, a few others and their teacher all got escorted off the plane. Anyways, I thought 'sod that, I'm not risking it'. So I get's off as well. Anyways, the plane takes off and guess what......... yep, plane explodes killing all on board. Anyways, I hear that all the peeps who got off, well, they all start dying one by one, and I hears that they all died in the order they would have died in the plane. It's true I tells ya, true.
