I am giving a leadership class to Civil Air Patrol cadets next week. Do you know of any good scenarios I can use to teach them good leadership skills?

Give them some subjective and objective scerarios. Keep it fluid and don't let them get too comfortable or complacent. Keep 'em guessing, but make it fair throughout. Evaluate them based on their decision making abilities and most importantly, hold them accountable for their actions and the actions of their subordinates.
Put all of them in charge at one time or another and see how they act/react with different personalities, stressful situations in a changing environment.
1. Pick some of the cadets and put them in charge.
2. Tell the "leaders" that they must choose among their peers for a mission which will certainly lead to a number of deaths.
3. Have them rehearse the mission numerous times.
4. Observe how each one reacts to various stimuli
5. HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME!!!

The best leadership skill you could teach them is not to follow--but then they'd all drop out of Cadets. Send them on a leadership mission to invade America.

make them do push ups, thats the only good thing the military knows how to do
