Try drinking Ensure. A lot of times it's sold next to the pharmacy. Ask the pharmacist how much to drink to gain healthy weight. Also, I have a friend who's naturally very thin. When she loses a few pounds, she eats peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as a snack between meals to gain the weight back. I don't really know why this works for her, but it does. It's worth a try.

Stop moving? Do you exercise a lot or fidget a lot? It might help if you cut down.

But, you know, the only way to gain weight is to decrease the outgo (don't use energy) or increase the intake (eat more).

I would try to exercise a moderate amount, because you will need to have as healthy a body as possible going into surgery. Also, I would try to gain weight by eating healthy foods, rather than lots of sugar and plain fat. Add a little fat to your meat -- eat those good cuts with lots of marbleing. Have bacon and eggs every morning for breakfast, with some nice veggies on the side. Butter your whole-wheat toast. Splash some real cream on top of a bowl of strawberries.

You should enjoy the little extras -- they add up really fast, too.

Good luck, and I hope the surgery is a success.
