Christians are told to restore the sinner and leave the punishment to God?

Matthew 18:15 'If a brother or sister sins, go and point out the fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that “every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.” 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector. 18 'Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Galatian 6:1 Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted

Or Matthews 13:24-30, and the exegesis by Jesus in 13:36-43.

This is correction between believers and has nothing to do with punishment but perhaps excommunication.

In order to restore the sinner, the sinner must listen to the congregation. repent and ask for forgiveness. thereby being restored to the congregation.

If the sinner refuses to listen to the congregation, then they are to be removed from the congregation.

Final judgement though is always with God.

both scriptures complement each other. Matt 18, explains how to accomplish Gal 6.

I do not care what anyone says, if God wants us to love and not punish then why would God punish. I do not think a true loving God would punish us.
