I had to get rid of most of my male friends because they wanted to "hook up" with me...I don't sleep with my friends. I just want someone that is very funny honest caring and will let me vent when I need to. I just had a baby and sometimes I get a little depressed and want someone that will cheer me up...not a fool asking me for sex!!!

Okay, its pretty clear to me that most of the guys that responded are immature jerks. Im not looking for someone to just vent to...and to the moron that made the comment about me being young single and with a baby...Im 28 years old and I have a 3 month old daughter...she is my only child and she is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Me being single and having a baby doesn't make me a slut! Im not with her father because he is an idiot!

Good luck. All men want sex at some point. I have male friends who have admitted to wanting to hook up with me. It's all about the sex. This is something that all men do and will continue to do until the end of time. The only sure friend without benefits is the gay guy. I'm sorry, but this is true. You can either except that men are going to find you attractive or you can hang out with gay guys. This is your choice in this matter. Good luck and choose wisely.

There are some out there, unfortuntely men are tuned to want sex with women its a natural thing and can be most annoying. i however after years of mistakes and wrong choices now have a great group of male friends. I guess its because i am honest from the outset.....friendship only....they still flirt and make comments but its purely banter and thats great. They see me as one of the lads now and its a lot of fun but i notice that they dont find that easy with a lot of girls. I let them say what it is lads say and instead of disagreeing and getting offended as some do i laugh and take the piss out of em!! It seems to work, they wouldnt dare try it on with me, and its always me they ring when they need to talk ( or need a shoulder to cry on ssshhhh!! ) The best thing is i get invited on lads nights out all the time!!!

im sorry we do exist but also a lot of ladies think that its not possible for males and females to be just friends
so we sort of give up ourselves on finding friends --- its also complicated in that if you are seeing someone they may take the friendship the wrong way and if you have a partner then you will want to be with them and adding a single person to the mix makes it more difficult

Well i dont know how old you are but you know thats its a fact that men dont mature as fast as we do. So maybe you should find some older male friends to hang out with. And dont be depressed you have a beautiful baby now. That should make you smile. Stay away from the no good men,,you should know who they are. Find someone who just wants a friendship and make it clear to them thats all you want.

Because "mature male" is an oxymoron... like "jumbo shrimp" and "military intelligence."
My advice? Find GAY male friends because they won't want to hook up, but they're happy to help with the baby and even help you clean up your house if you're exhausted. They care deeply, they're emotional and more in touch with their nurturing side.
Also... guys who were raised by their mom and older sisters are cool. They don't view women as property or something to be conquered. They lived with women so they've learned a lot along the way in a perfect world.
Other than that... aim for older women who've been there, done that, will help you fold the shirts. Seriously... they'll remember what it was like and be a great support system for you. Some of your younger friends, male and female, aren't going to *get it*

Bottom line is that ALL men want to hook up, no matter wht. There are some, however, that will be totally fine with just being your friend. But in the end, they ALL want to sleep with you. It is in our nature.
I resent you saying I am immature. I told the truth, it is the natural law of the land. That is the way men are. I guess you want mature friends but not honest ones.

Try hanging with a cool GAY friend; they are creative, stylish, and oh so comical. this past thanksgiving I chose to kick back at home, let my husband visit relatives in Houston, . I spent the entire weekend with my male gay friends and I was so comfortable. People questions why, because I don't have to worry about them trying to kick it with me. My husband is okay with me hanging with them as well.
