My favorite quote is by Carl Sagan:
"In order to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first create the universe"
I do live by this, because it reminds me how insignificant I am, and how awesome our Creator must be. It keeps me humble.
Another one is:
"If at first you don't succeed, try try again" (forget who said it)
This one kind of reminds me not to give up, after all, Formula 409 isn't called Formula one, now is it?
and one I remember from psychology class (again I don't know who said it):
"When we act the most unlovable is when we need love the most"
This one helps me cope with a 4 year old's tantrums, and some cranky adults too.
the last is more of a saying than a quote, but I like to remember "don't take it personally". this helps me not get hurt feelings over silly things like people giving me 'thumbs down' over my answers.

1. All happiness is in the mind. (English proverb)
2. There is nothing in the world stronger than gentleness. (Anon.)
Yes, of course I get results from these two since the mind is the origin of my happiness, that is, such happiness doesn't necessarily cost a lot of money or rely on longing for honor or fame. Moreover, gentlemen and gentle women (ladies) are welcome and leading to more friendship, collaboration and respect.

All we are doing is making memories.
A friend of mine in college used to say that all the time and I found it helps to keep things in prospective. No matter what goes on during my day, it will all be a memory tomorrow. So all that matters is how I handle it and that I make it through the day.

Here are four of them that really pep me up on days I have lesser belief in myself. It makes me feel lighter on my feet and fuller in my heart....
"Hope is faith holding out its hand in the dark."
- George Iles
"We must not only give what we have; we must also give what we are."
- Desire-Joseph Mercier
"I have found the paradox that if I love until it hurts, then there is no hurt, but only more love."
- Mother Teresa
"If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive."
- Eleonora Duse

Live every day as if it was your last. It motivates me to do my best and treat everyone kindly because that is how I'd want them to remember me.

"Never judge a book by its cover", is one that I try to remeber every day... People are so diverse and jsut b/c the act or seem on way doesnt mean you can pass judgement on them as a person!
I think everyone needs to keep this one in mind.

My mother has always said "Children live what they learn" And that's encouraged me to be a good example for any child who comes around me.
