My name is Stephen Eugene Williams and I was born in Chicago, IL on January 4, 1952 and I have never met or even seen a picture of my mother. Her name at the time of my birth was Elizabeth Mae Williams which was a maiden name, she was 21 years old and had a three year old boy whos name I do not know. My fathers name was "legally Omitted " from my birth certificate. I was put up for adoption but was never adopted and grew up in a foster home. The ILLINOIS Dept of Children and Family services has an open investigation to locate my mother. They lost track of her in 1962 after they gave her a photo of me at age ten and told her how I was doing. My older brother was not put up for adoption and she was raising him at that time. I harbor no ill feelings because I feel I was loved by my foster mother. I am now a grandfather and I would like some closure. Can anyone help me to locate my mother and brother with only the information provided above? I thank all the people that have tried to help.

Do you know the name she was using and her location when she was given your picture? That may will give you a starting point for additional research. For instance, at the time of the picture, did she rent or own the house she was living in? Was she married and using a different surname? That will allow you to search for marriage, divorce and possibly additional birth records.
If you do not have this information, I don't know of anything else to assist you. It took me 15 years to find my father. Good luck!
