The major categories are the flight management system which includes navigation, tcas, etc The environmental control system for temp and cabin pressure, electrical controls for the generators and inverters, the APU control for the aux power unit, Hydraulic systems controls. deice controls for heating critical surfaces, lights external and internal, Communications ie radios,pa, Engine management system. (mostly power control by wire these days), flight control system which is how the aircraft is steered in the air, autopilot. The ground movement system which allows the plane to taxi on the ground, how about a specific system to answer your question could use up a couple of hours to explain how each item works.

Well, there are flight instruments - those that show vital data, like altitude, heading, speed, attitude. There are navigation instruments - show where you are and help you get to the destination airport and land there. And there are systems for engine control and monitoring.
