I am not talking about hair loss...I am just talking about making hair thicker and longer.

Your best bet is Prenatal Vitamins, they are good for you even if you are not pregnant. Doctors say women between the ages of 18-30 should take them before pregnancy because they have everything you need, it is basically a multivitamin. You can get them from anywhere I know Wal-Mart has them for sure. And they help your nails grow stronger.

I take a multivitamin an I also take biotin. The biotin made a difference in my hair - it grew faster and thicker. I measure it, so I know when the growth rate changes. No vitamin can change the hair that's already on your head, but it can influence new growth.

I was taking a multi-vitamin for a few years and I didn't notice a difference with anything, it was One A Day...the complete one, I forget the exact name. Skin, nails, hair...still was the same. Vitamins are good for your health. If you want better looking hair you should take better care of it. And if it's too thin for your liking...just get a perm. That's what I did and my hair is fine. Not too much damage, no hair falling out, no burned scalp...just curls. If you have a reputable stylist they can do it for you and use the right chemicals on your hair so it does minimal damage to the hair and scalp.

No, they do not work. Your hair needs to things to promote hair growth. Adding mositure and messaging the scalp. Use the balls of your fingers start messaging the hair line and temples and scalp with a hair dressing that contains natural herbs and vitamins and minerals. This will help the blood circulate which stimulates the hair follicles which promotes hair growth. Ddo this at least two times a week and you will notice hair growth in 6 weeks.

Hair loss or baldness is caused mainly due to the lack of Vitamin B supplements. Vitamin B5 contains pantothenic acid and B3 (niacin that is vital for hair growth). B6 is equally important to the body, as it contains the nutrients of zinc, sulfur, magnesium and biotin.

An interesting fact about Vitamin B: Certain experiments were conducted with rats and they were fed with food that lacked magnesium supplements. It was found that they lost their hair in bunches and when they were provided with a low biotin diet they turned hairless. But to the surprise of all, their hair returned when they were fed with food rich in Vitamin B. Similar studies were conducted on men and it was found that Vitamin B enriches the quality of hair. The body also requires Vitamin A. Fatty acids such as primrose oil, flaxseed oil or salmon oil need to be consumed for enhancing hair growth.

Vitamin E is meant for stimulating the oxygen intake in the body and improves the blood circulation. If there is proper blood circulation, hair growth is enhanced. Vitamin C assists the normal functioning of capillaries that carries the blood to the scalp. Even zinc is an important supplement, which should be consumed as it assists hair growth.

Biotin is necessary for hair growth. There are many sources of biotin such as brewer's yeast, brown rice, bulgur, green peas, lentils, oats, soybeans, sunflower seeds, and walnuts. It is present in some shampoos, so you can use shampoos, which contain biotin. It is advised to consult a physician before taking any vitamins or medications for hair growth

I take evening primrose oil to help it grow. I've heard that henna treatments make hair thicker but haven't tried it myself.
