She will be fine. I've had 3 cats spayed and all have made it just fine. She probably doesn't even remember being at the pound. Vets deal with spaying every day and they know how to take good care of your girl. Leave her things at home and just love her when she comes home. She might be sore, so not alot of cuddling, but pet and talk to her. She will forget it all and love you. She is very lucky to have someone who loves her so much! Good luck!

First of all.. I commend you for spaying the little kitty.. that is admirable and OH HOW I WISH that all people would spay/neuter their precious pets...As far as overnight.. do not worry.. the kitty will be OK and your going there would make it worse for the feelings of the kitty... The operation is quick and the kitty will be groggy for a while and so wait until the day to pick the kitty up before you show up there again.

Don't load her up stuff. Take her blankie. They will most likely let you put it in her cage. They won't want her to eat before the operation. After the operation, she will sleep almost until it's time for you to pick her up. She won't have time to work a good kitty psychosis. Cats live in the present. In a week it will be gone from her walnut sized memory.
I've had cats spayed. This is the best thing you can do for her.

you want to save her in a minimum of 10 days or till the stitches are bumped off in the adventure that they are that form. The bump will be common and only a muscle reaction to the stitches if that's no longer pink. there might want to correctly be bruising for an afternoon or 2 that may seem pink although that's lower than the exterior, it really is common. If it appears that evidently pink like that's aggravated or contaminated then it really is undesirable.

awww... YOU are simply precious... If I were a cat, I'd like to belong to you. As toyour questions, I say, GO AHEAD! Vets are quite accustomed to people like us who cannot bear the thought that our beloved pet might be distressed. As to visiting kitty, I say that it will reassure kitty that you are still around and will be comforted by it. Do all that is in your heart to do.
When my cat had to go and have his teeth cleaned (with 4 extractions to boot) under anesthesia, I plagued the vet receptionist and assistant to give me a "blow-by-blow" of what was happening in the surgery. They were very good about it becuase they so totally understood.

When my dog, Bingo, was spayed I took her rubber ducky with her. The vet just laughed and said that everyone needs thier ducky. So if it makes you feel better to take something then go ahead.

Dont worry, She'll be a bit frightened at first but, during surgery Your cat will be anesthetised and out of it. She will be ok, but tired, sleepy and sore when she returns home. And she wont remember a thing...
