What most people refer to as the Kama Sutra (a dictionary of sexual positions and procatices) is really only one chapter in the Kama Sutra. The Kama Sutra is a manual on how to live and behave in all aspects of life. I've known many hindus and found them to be very conservative in regards to sex and religion. Why would you care about their sexuality and their level of religiousness?

Believe u have misunderstood the purpose of kama sutra. It is the art of having bond with one. Not for the purpose of lust but the positions and patterns awakens certain chakras and strenghten your nevers and veins In hindusim there is three main factors. Mantras, Yantras amd tantras.
Mantras is on prayers and verses to invoke the presence of god and other deities. Yantras is the object used to invoke the supernatural . Lastly Tantras. Kama sutra falls in this catogery. In hinduism sex is not seen as a playstuff but and act of pure devotion between two body, soul and mind mind uniting.
Why this is important for humans to practice safe and proper sex because he is starting another life force on this world. And the only possiblity is thru man and woman. So the act must be pure and energize the body . But certain postures practise on important dates with the the correct time marching the planets and stars will open up your seven chakras.
Sex is not meant for fun and one night stand purpose. Nowadays it is not widly taught in asians countries. In western countries tantric yoga is thought. Kama sutra is part of it. If a man can control the mind on lust there won't be sexual related crimes on this world and woman will be save from 'beast'. If every man knows kama sutra. The world will enjoy sex in a humanly manner.

The Kama Sutra is on all aspects of life-not just sexual ones. It is just that you only see part of it at the bookstores.
And, it is sad that there are so many puritanical people around-you miss so much in life. Sex, to you, is dirty-nasty-something to be uptight about. We were made sexual beings---are you saying this is not true? I am sorry you are missing so much in life. We were given this pleasure, too. Use it.

Look you have to understand this clearly.Sex is not anti-religious.This is a Cristian idea(not the one preached by the great Jesus) propagated by some powerful people in their times so that people don't go around sleeping with whoever they want(like a prostitute or incest etc.,)without sex there is no creation/birth .what Hindus say is sex should within the realm of marriage only and they can enjoy it in a way they want to but in privacy. You know in Hinduism The first-night is also very religious and to same extent a spiritual.

in case you recommendations-set it from the viewpoint of Hinduism, then all the above. Intimacy is (or can or could be) the actual action that symbolizes the religious, emotional, and psychological cohesion of human beings in an interpersonal relationship. This relationship between human beings is likewise a relationship interior of easily the (Brahman.) in case you may think of of a Prayer e book as a "the thank you to" handbook while it is composed of "speaking to God"... then you actual can think of of the Kama Sutra as a "the thank you to" handbook while it is composed of interpersonal intimacy. each and each individual is an "essence of God."

That depends on if you consider sex as a bad thing. To many of us, and to the hindu's, sexual pleasure is a means of commnunicating love to our partners. If sex is wrong, why did God give us the ability to have an orgasm?

So you are implying that a religious person cannot have a good sex life? Sex can be spiritual and some people might even say bring you closer to nirvana.
