US soldiers are not allowed to have pornography for three reasons.
1) It is considered offensive to some female soldiers .
2) It is offensive to Islam .
3) It may cause soldiers to commit sexual assault .
Do you see the kind of crap, american soldiers have to deal with ? The army has become a "politically correct" organization.
Next they'll be telling us to hold hands and sing camp songs .
Sometimes it truly sucks to be a soldier .!!!!

This is true. It has something to do with Religion, but at the moment I can't recall the actual reason. Magazines like MAXIM isn't really even allowed. If caught with materials such as this, the Soldier could actually face getting an Article 15 for disobeying an Order.

Soldiers deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan are not allowed to possess pornography. It is a violation of General Order 1. General Order 1 also prohibits alcohol possession or use and prohibits sexual contact. Violation of General Order 1 is punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

They aren't supposed to have it but they do have access to the internet so you do the math! ;-) From what I've heard the locals ask them for it too so I don't think they like the no porn laws either.
By the way the poster that said it entices them to rape women....well that's just idiotic! A picture of a naked woman does NOT turn them into a rapist. If it did we'd have a whole lot of 13 yr olds roaming the streets in packs looking for a woman to rape!

Almost all military schools give the same type of training with ephasis on descipline.
However, we usually find isolated cases of deliquent soldiers going beyond their limits.
This is not unique to American soldiers in Iraq but common to most soldiers in operation. However, we tend to know more about Americans in Iraq because they are in the lime light. There are worse cases happening in other parts of the world going unnoticed.

I was in Iraq, March 2004 to March 2005. We were not supposed to have porn, but it was readily available. Booze was forbidden, but it was still there with little or no enforcement of the ban by the military. There was not supposed to be sex between soldiers, but there were many married men that 'got a little on the side' on a regular basis. The regulations against porn are there, but are not enforced. Anyone that was in Iraq, can you document any enforcement of the rules against porn?

you be attentive to i became into thinking alongside comparable lines when I heard approximately them making a severe crackdown on all porn on bases, and being bought interior the PX's. Getting porn on the civilian industry may be puzzling too in case you're deployed. you could no longer basically provide up interior the close by Iraqi industry and purchase porn once you're out on patrol. nicely the only way they are in a position to't provide up you from getting porn to the warriors is to easily mail it to them. Then it is inner maximum sources and that they at the instant are not going to bother all of us approximately that. i might say setup an internet site and setup the deal of offering unfastened porn to all of us to emails you approximately it. according to hazard even set it up on ebay or something, basically basically mail to any protection stress handle to all of us who enquires approximately it. In that way, no you may get in difficulty over the difficulty.

Technically they are not, because of the concern that pornography may offend the Muslisms. They all have it though, they just have to get it sent to them from the States, as they can't buy it in the PX in Iraq.

It could be, because I know these magazines are not allowed in Arab and Muslim countries, and of course the US soldiers should go by the country's rules to some extent.
