It was closed from April 2005 for renovation, but is being transformed into both a hotel and private residences. Actually, it may not be open yet, there was a fire I think in February this year so things may have been delayed somewhat.

No. The Plaza is currently under renovation with a majority of the rooms being converted into luxury condos. When it reopens the building will have a mix of condos and hotel rooms. As of now, it's scheduled to reopen sometime in 2007.

No. It is closed for renovation. Half the hotel is being turned into apartments which is a shame and there will only be about 100 rooms at the hotel when it re-opens.

The Plaza Hotel in Manhattan is being converted to condo's and will close its doors in April.
