I love mussels and fed up of the same old sauces. I don't want dishes that include other seafood.

My belief is that simple is best...let the mussels' taste shine through. Try heating olive oil and garlic. Add chopped fresh tomatoes or a large can of diced tomatoes. Season with fresh basic (lots). Heat for about 15 minutes on med/high heat. Add the mussels and cover to steam. Delicious in a bowl, dipping in italian bread - or serve over linguini. Enjoy!!!

marinate in crushed garlic, lemon juice, salt and some seafood seasoning (powdered form) for abt 20 mins
fry an onion in some olive oil til soft, add mussels and cook til mussels are cooked
when cooked add a small carton of double cream and freshly chopped coriander
serve with toasted sourdough bread

another way is to marinade the mussels as above strain off the marinade
dip the mussels in breadcrumbs, place on a baking tray and drizzle with either melted butter or olive oil and bake on medium high heat til the breadcrumbs are light golden brown
serve with some savoury veggie rice or on a bed of mixed salad leaves with lemon quarters

Boil them in white wine, a little flour and garlic, classic, throw away any that are not closed before cooking, any that do not open during cooking, and serve with wholemeal bread.

alternatively, get spiced paprika sausage, I like a polish kabana, and dice into fine cubes, about 4 mm square, mix with fresh diced tomatoes, and a dash of paprika, and throw into pan instead of wine/garlic/flour mixture.

and third method, is to cook in classic manner, then scrape out cooked mussels, and toss into a pan of frying green beans, squirt in a splash of barbecue sauce, and fresh tagliatelle pasta, heat for a few minutes.
meanwhile, heat half a small goats cheese under the grill, and some strips of parma ham, so they melt/crisp,

put melted cheese in middle of plate, spoon around the mixture, and top with crispy parma ham
