I just read that mormons believe in Zion-- yet the 'New Jeruselam' will be built on the American continent. What do you think of that?

Before you believe any literature that the Mormons print, you should check out thier history. And I predict that the New Jerusalem (which means city of peace), will never touch American soil. (America is the resurrected roman empire). The United Nations are the feet of the statue in Daniel, made of clay and iron. Partly weak, partly strong.

Zion means where the Saints of God are gathered, be that in Europe, Indonesia, Japan, whereever.
If the New Jerusalem is in the America's, then why do you care? Figure out why they say that instead of trying to find people to help ridicule Mormon's on Yahoo Answers.

Truthfully I believe the Mormons are kooks, that said they are reasonably benign which cannot be said of some Christian sects. I cannot believe they accept half of what they believe, but overall they seem to be very nice people, just don't let them get in control or you'll never be able to do anything fun again,or at least not my idea of fun anyway.

I think things would be better then America supports Israel and it will be established among nations who do not feel threatened by it's existence, the Middle East will get calmer and every one will be happy, except maybe that America would rather give Israel a piece of the Middle Eastern land than a piece of America of course.

Not quite. the guy who wrote the Mormon bible is considered to be the second coming of Christ. Thus, Salt Lake City in Utah being the "New Jerusalem". That all ready happened in the 1800's. I guess their waiting for the thrid coming of Christ...?

Every religion is self centered. Americans probably think Armageddon is a place in America.

I'd like a bit more evidence to support such a claim

Instead of posting your question here, wouldn't it be more sensible to let this subject be explained to you by the Mormons themselves? After all, it's their doctrine and you'll probably only get hostile comments here.

I've noticed that since a relative of mine converted their whole personality has changed so I don't care for it............... I need more proof than someone looking at some golden plates that no one else has ever seen.
