...comes on after driving it for about 15 minutes. The distance doesn't seem to matter, and the gauges all read in the normal range. I just had the oil change and the radiator flushed. The light has NEVER been on before. It seems to be running fine, though with a clutch that is beginning to slip. Since I never drive it more than 20 miles in one direction, should I worry about it? Thanks for your input!

Gee lets see...... The check engine light is coming on every time you drive the vehicle but since you don't drive far you wonder if you can just ignore it. Go for it and lets see what the results will be.

It could be something as insignificant as an emissions code but it also could be something more serious. It may just need to be reset. There may also be nothing wrong! Those lights can come on for no reason at all sometimes. Take it to your favorite mechanic and have it scoped. It's pretty inexpensive. He will be able to tell you. It's probably nothing serious but you should have it checked out.......if nothing else it will put your mind at ease.

worry about it or while your replacing that clutch you will be replacing the engine as well. whats funny here is with a slipping clutch what the engine light might be is your speed sensor. reason being is engine rpm's dont match the speed. have it looked at or as the guy above said, we will sit and wait for your results
