Does anyone have a way to keep cats away from the tree? I could really use any ideas you may have. Thanks so much!

Put a citrus smell underneath. There are sprays you can buy specifically for that purpose.

A word about tinsel -

When a cat swallows cellophane tinsel, as their stomach acids start to break down the edges it becomes like razor blades in their stomachs. It can also ballup and block their intestines or actually knot around inside causing blood to be shut down to an area and gangrene set in. It's best to fore go the tinsel if you have a cat, but if you must either keep your cat away from the tree or put the tinsel up high or at the very tips of the branches so they can't reach it by climbing the tree.

You could try spraying the bottom of the tree or around that area with some sort of smelly stuff that cats don't like. You can check your local pet store to see if they have a spray or some other option for keeping your pets away from things that you don't want them around. Also, to keep the smell of the tree, you could spray it on the rug or floor area around the tree and let the rest of the tree do the whole pine smell thing.

it particularly is an age old conflict. here is the only answer to boot status shield over your tree 24 hours an afternoon: a million. whilst the cat is interior - positioned the tree exterior. 2. whilst the cat is exterior, carry the tree decrease back interior. OKOK, that fluctuate into purely for relaxing....Our costly cats have plenty relaxing as quickly as we set up the authentic tree - we usually enable them to have it. Cats in the Christmas tree particularly carry out the excitement of Christmas - - it particularly is like the tree that keeps on adorning itself -- in specific circumstances there's a cat on the backside, in specific circumstances there's a cat on the authentic, in specific circumstances all we see are tails protruding, in specific circumstances we see faces. So ok we are huge dummies, yet our cats had plenty relaxing until eventually now we've been able to tug the decorations out -- that we merely in no way particularly finished the tree.... solid luck!! and maximum of all, bear in mind cats are human beings too and picture in case you have been a cat and ultimately somebody added in a real stay PIECE OF CAT furnishings INTO the homestead? How inspired would you be with your human beings???

The common answer to keeping animals away from plants is to put pepper sauce on the reachable branches of the tree. Once they discover it isn't fun to tatse, they don't do it again. O.O Evil, but effective. And don't over do it, a small amount is fine.

You could also try not putting tinsel on your tree. Cats are like drug addicts for that stuff.

You're fighting natural instinct. My best answer will be to keep them in another room away from the tree while you're not home.

While you are home find something that they react to in order to modify their behavior. Loud noises when they go near the tree, or water squirts. Cats are hard to structure, but it can be done.

My favorite trick is to just spray them with water. I always have a squirt bottle by me, and if I see them getting close to the tree, I squirt them.
