Hi

We found a puppy & nobody owned up for him. so we decided to keep him. You can see he is just a few weeks old. He has light brown straight hair, with a white stripe from his head to his nose only & white paws. the rest is brown. he has a bit of a long body & big belly looks cute but a bit funny as well with a small & rounded face. i am thinking maybe he is a sausage dog but his years is not long & droopy & his face is not pointed.

can someone help.

You undoubtedly found a mixed breed pup, but they can often make the best pets, so enjoy him for what he is. You also rescued him... GOOD!

Now, as far as a pot belly, I would think he may just have some worms. pups should n't have pot belly's.

I would recommend getting him into see the vet ASAP, and your vet will not only worm and vaccinate the baby, but give you a more precise age and give you a better idea of what he maybe be a mix of

good luck, and enjoy.. they grow up way to fast!

Wiener dogs don't have droopy ears - you are thinking of a basset. It is sometimes hard to tell with a puppy until they mature a bit because most puppies are a bit rolly-polly. Do an image search on dogs in general and see if anything resembles him. He could be a cross of dozens of breeds. Like the Heinz 57 variety.

I cannot see a picture of your dog but from the description it sounds as though he has border collie in him and maybe he is a cross with a basset hound.
The vet with have some idea. It really doesn't matter too much though since you will get used to his personality and be able to determine was is good for him based on that.

it sounds to me like it may just be a mix, but it might still be growing, so you mght wait little longer till you know his exact body shape, but he might be a bulldog, or an australian shepard, or a herding dog of some sort, but maybe not pick anyones answer till you think he might stay lke that as a mature dog. You could also go to your library and get a dog breed book and see which one looks like your puppy.

A veterinarian can tell you when you take the puppy in for a checkup and shots. We bought a poodle puppy and the vet said the puppy had Bichon Frise in the bloodline somewhere. She could tell by the shape of his head, his snout and type of fur he had. We love him anyway. Even if he's somewhat of a mutt.

By the way you are describing the puppy, it sounds like either a Dachshund or a Weimaraner. I'm not positive, but it sounds like it's either a Dachshund or a Weimaraner. Don't take my word for it, you should just take it the puppy to a professional and ask them.

it is spelled Jack Russel, and that they are small terriers, many times white, with easy brown markings, many times on the top of their short tail. according to probability you have a "watch dogs", incredibly if he collects "ticks". Ha ha

Bring it to the vet, they might be able to tell my DNA samples. Or the university Of w-e (Any) might help.
