You are thinking of Sikhs.

They have the five K's, similar to the five pillars in islam:

Kanga (comb)
Karra (the metal bracelet you are thinking of)
Kacha (cotton underpants)
Karpan (small dagger or sword)
Kes (unshaven or un-cut hair)

no not muslims....i think ur talking about the kabala....its based in israel...and they wear a red braclet that they cant take off.....i also know that madonna...britney spears...and demi moore follow that religion...check their pics and ull see red braclets around their wrists.

Its the teachings of Sikhism. Don't know the reason to that tho. I think they portray sign of might in their religion. I do know they have to keep a blade with them handy.

I don't know, but in Buddhism if a Buddhist monk gives you a bracelet, you can't take that off, don't know what it is called though.
