Stretch! Be careful not to 'bounce' in your stretches, just hold them. This helped me immensely.

Sit up straight, with your shoulders back at all times. Its a pain but it works.
Stand with you back against a wall, bend your knees, push the bottom of your back against the door, pull your shoulders back, and stretch your neck out by slightly looking down. Hold for one minute. You can also raise your arms and bring them back down again. This can also be performed on the floor.
If you attend a gym lots of pulling exersises will help with posture.
To begin with its very painful, but in time the pain will lessen and you will have great posture, and may even be an inch taller. How cool is that. Good luck.

Like most others you too didn't give details of age and business which matters most. Most of the backpains are due to inflamation in intestines, therefore to judge simply is very difficult.
If the pain is due to gap in spines you should avoid exercises or do by self observation that whether forward bending increases pain or backward. Avoid things suffering you.
Please learn art of preparing pure ghee from curds from Indian lady and use it with your daily meals. It is the best remedy. It will fill up the gaps in all joints in your body. Use less. Eat only with hunger. Use green vegitables and salads to treat constipation. Avoid stale and junk food.

Pilates is GREAT to help strengthen your core muscles. This will help improve your posture and protect your back.
See if you can do this through a physiotherapist to make sure you are doing it correctly and are given the right exercises

Trouble with back pain can be a bigger problem than you think.
I also had lower back problems, took exercises, hospital back
manipulation and after many years they found two collapsed
discs in my spine, had op and pain free ever since.
Advise / go see your Doctor.

My mother is a head physio - according to her you can lie on a hard surface / ground with a tennis ball in the small of your back for around ten fifteen minutes a day and after a while it should help. I have tried it and its quite uncomfortable but i felt allot better afterwards.

before you get out of bed in the morning. lie on your back and bring your knees up to your chest and gently stretch, then rock from side to side.
you can also roll up a towel (hand towel size) and put length ways down your spine from top to just below bra strap and lie there for no longer than a few minutes you can gradually increase the length of time over days.
if it persists go to your dr and ask for a physio appt.

i suffered terribly for a while with a bad back, ... i injured it running and it left me unable to turn without a pain into my sciatic nerve,
i did alot of swimming to increase flexability and also went to see a chiropractor, which are different to osteopaths ... because of the spelling,.....
I'm a body builder now and get only very minor aches when i over do it but try these to exercises....to help you core stability
crunches.... and hyper extensions........
a good exercise to realise your back is to lie on a hard flat surface and bring with your heels touching your bum..... then bring your knees to your chest and hold them as close to your chest as possible........ then return you legs to the floor with your heels touching your bum again.
then instead of bring them to your chest let them fall to the right and then your left.... return to centre and bring to your chest.....
almost guaranteed to click your back....... you feel alot better after it
hope it clears up soon
