Doesnt there fur help at all my dog shivers but doesnt fur prevent cold?

Dogs don't get the same type of cold virus that we do but they do get upper resperatory problems. If your dog is shivering they might also be nervous. Some dogs shake when they are afraid. If your dog is cold make sure he has a warm place to be or he will die.

Yes they can catch colds. If it is bacterial then a person can catch a cold from his dog and vise versa. Also, a dog with short fur will get cold easily. It is no different than a person throwing on a light spring jacket then going out into below freezing weather. Burr! You would not wear a spring jacket in winter, so give your dog a coat and some booties to keep his feet warm.

The pads of their feet absorb weather and they can get cold.

Dogs do get Kennel cough and can get pnemonia. Usually from other dogs and if you have to board your dog they will require a vaccine for Kennel cough.
