I buy large bottles of Real Lemon and pour it directly in a glass and drink it down.

My wife drinks that stuff by the gallon and now she will not sleep with me. So I would say it is a bad idea. She also has a nose like a basset hound and if I so much as release a cubic centimeter of a fart she can smell it from across the room.

I would suggest vodka instead.

Doing anything in excess is not a good thing.

In your case, it may also depend on the number of times you down Real Lemon per day. But I would agree that the increased acidity may start to play some havoc on the enamel of your teeth. You might be able to alleviate this by brushing right afterward - thus neutralizing the acid.

There should be no problem with your stomach since your stomach acid is hydrochloric acid and you've been doing it a while without problems (some people do have a sensitive stomach which reacts to hot food, acidic foods, etc, leading to esophageal reflux or heart burn).

If you're not drinking enough water each day, the excess vitamin C could cause some problems (again depending on how much you drink of the Real Lemon as well). But if you have working kidneys and hydrate well, typically your body should just excrete the excess via urine.

Personally, I would err on the side of caution, and if you really like it that much, just don't do it too often (and again brush right afterwards)

If it's part of a properly balanced diet, go ahead and enjoy. Me, I add a touch of sweetener to mine - necessarily an artificial sweetener because of my diabetes - but I am prone to do the same thing. But a large bottle of Real Lemon lasts me about two weeks because I like variety. Once in awhile, on a very hot summer day, I will cut the Real Lemon with a couple quarts of water and add a tablespoonful of sugar per quart. That gives me a healthful cooling drink that also replenishes my body's electrolytes. The sugar is important at those times because we all use a great deal of energy, which comes through burning carbs, keeping up with our chores and all during hot weather. I also test my blood sugar more frequently at such times and adjust my insulin as needed...hopefully you don't have to bother with that; it's a real pain in the acetabulum...

Wow, say goodbye to your intestinal flora. They only protect the walls of your stomach against ulcers. Not to mention that pure lime juice is the worst enemy of teeth enamel. So get ready to become a toothless, stomach-hugging Real Lemon (which is NOT real lemon, by the way) drinker.

I just know that if you drink pure lemon juice a few days pefore your period, it will postpone it and this is not healthy. I have done it some times on purpose, but when the day comes and I have my period I am in more pain that I am used to.
