Our house was broken into yesterday. My boyfriend's lap top was stolen but will be completely covered by insurance, so it's just a matter of time before he gets a new one (probably 10 times better than the one he had before!). As for my stuff, it's basically long gone and can never be replaced because of it's emotional value.

Yesterday, not even an hour after it happened, he was at Best Buy looking at new computers! I kind of feel like all he cares about is himself and doesn't even realize that my things were worth so much more, valuable and sentimental.

He's definitely addicted to his computer game, World of Warcraft, and is probably going to go insane until he gets a new lap top to play it. I just feel it's so lame and reidcilous. How can I make him realize this?

First off, Have you PLAYED World of Warcraft? How DARE you belittle the urge to play WoW.

Just kidding

People deal with these situations differently. Some people sit and stew. Some rant. Some drive around thinking that they can spot the thief and issue a beat down. He browsed Best Buy. Probably consoling himself.

A break-in like that is a violation. Even for a guy, you are ticked off that someone took from you, they got the better of you. All you can think of is that you want to get your hands on the guy.

As for your things, he can try to sympathize with you,but in reality, you are the one who will feel the loss. At best, he will feel sorry that you are hurting, but there is not much he can do. Since your losses is sentimental, he can't do much to replace them. He is probably at a loss.

All I'm saying is, give the guy a little break

Women never realize this. MEN DON'T KNOW HOW YOU THINK. Me and my girlfriend have had problems because I'm not as emotional (more logical). I don't feel comfortable consoling people and tend to make jokes when tragedy occurs.

My advice: Tell him how you feel. Trust me, he will feel bad if he really knew what he was doing was hurting you. He may never have lost something sentimental in his life so he probably doesn't know how it feels.

Tell him what you are feeling. the reason why he's doing this is that we men sometimes need to be remembered because there are moments that we take everything for granted, especially during relationships. So it has to be you that will make him remember that he has to give you some time in his life. Hope it helps and Good Luck hun.

calmly sit down and express just how much your stuff meant to you. But don't expect a big wave of emotion from him. some men are not programed that way. All you can do is let him know how you are feeling and hope that it sinks in.
