Based on the previous question, the President has very little impact on overturning issues such as Roe V Wade. So why do people even care about where he stands on abortion? Should we not be more concerned about his stance on issues he can directly influence?

Abortion is one of the most critical issues of our time. Abortion is the killing of a baby. Killing is wrong no matter what the circumstances. I will not vote for a President who is pro-abortion.

Even if I agree with a candidate on every other issue, I will not vote for someone who is pro-abortion. Roe v. Wade was a bad decision.

Everyone has the right to life.

I don't see anyone holding a gun to the heads of Christians telling them they must have an abortion. Why do Christians think it is OK to force women to bare unwanted children? They seem to think it is a violation of their rights if they are denied the opportunity to use the coercive power of the state to shove their god down every ones throat. We do not believe some god creature shoves a soul into a fetus at the moment of conception and any attempt to use the government to enforce such a ridiculous idea will be met with heavy resistance. Women will not be forced back to the barbarity of forced breeding by your superstitious beliefs.

Abortion isn't the only issue. It's true that the slaughter of millions of innocent lives are an abomination in the sight of God, and God will judge all those responsible from the lawmakers to the doctors, supporters, and the mothers. But there are more issues. I'm afraid it is too late for America to turn back now. Judgment is about to take place here soon. God kept His hand of mercy on us because we were a "nation under God". I believe he will remove His hand of mercy and let the terrorists have their way.

Its not. Abortion is not a goverment issue it is a social issue that the goverment should not be aloud to legislate. Just like the goverment should not tell the public what they can or can not do when it comes to ANY personal issue. It should not be against the law to chose not to wear a seat belt. It should not be against the law to do drugs. It should not be against the law to marry more then one person, if a group of people want to get married so what, the alternitive is that two people get married and then cheat on each other, hence the 50% divorce rate in the US.

party strategy. it is all about getting reelected. granted i think some politicians truly are genuine in their beliefs, but most of them arent. year after year americans vote on issues that do not progress. it is important for politicians to have stances on issues like abortion and gay marriage, stances that generally cannot find middleground, so that there is a more identifiable voter base. i think it is still important if you feel strongly about your convictions on the matter to vote accordingly.

The president isn't supposed to have a stance on the issue, he has no involvement in the issue until it comes to ratifying a law. Consequently, neither do congressmen, their position is to up hold the majority opinion of their constituents.

The president has very little direct input, but is usually considered a leader for his party and the nation. If he pushes hard, legislation can be written and debated in congress on abortion or any other issue.

First at all..........why so much care about what he thinks about abortion??'
2nd. That is related to each woman and nothing else. Each woman has the right to think what is better for her. The day that men deliver some kid, that will be the day that will have the right to decide......So, stop trying to decide for others.
We women are the only ones that can decide about that.
