The Schengen settlement isn't correct because the united kingdom isn't a signatory to it, despite the indisputable fact that France is. The settlement is designed to allow loose delivery for the era of borders in the zone yet a uk citizen needs a passport to enter the zone. the united kingdom does no longer have identity playing cards both so no matter if Germany might want to enable you to in how do you advise to go back ?
