Most people probably got married at young ages back then because most of them were dead by 30.
At twelve you worked and fought as did the men.

In Jesus day and even in recent history we taught young people to be responsible. In the current time we still have weddngs recognized by law where what you would call children are legally married.It is a modern notion that one is not capable of responsibility until the age of 21.Yet somehow it is deemed good to ask these so called children to go to war and kill and be killed.
