A "Holeshot" Win is when a driver is the 'quickest' off the line and getting to the Finish line first without 'redlighting' but not actually posting the 'quickest' time or fastest mph. Thus theoretically, that person 'should' have Lost by taking longer to traverse the Drag Strip, but Won by getting to the Finish line first by leaving first. Got it? Tried to make it as simple as possible.

The second poster is correct. It is when you win by leaving the starting line first. Also, I have always seen it spelled holeshot without the "w".
