1. Mary's age is not known. Could have been as old as 16 or 17, could have been as young as 12.
2. Marriage customs change. They are different in different cultures. Back then, Mary's young age was not at all unusual. (Joseph was probably much older - probably 2 or even 3 times her age!!!)
3. They did not "have" Jesus. Mary had Jesus. Joseph just watched. Jesus was born "of a virgin".

God bless!!!

Mary was impregnated with Jesus by the Holy Spirit. Scripture is very clear the Joseph "knew her not" until Jesus was born. Thirteen or puberty, was the age that girls got married up until about 100 years ago.

NOPE. In fact until the early part of the 20th century 13 was a perfectly acceptable age for marriage (there are still states in the US where it is legal, with parental consent for a 13 year old to marry). AND there are still countries in the world where that age is still considered marriagable age. 13 is an adult. 13 should be treated like an adult in ALL ways. Simple as that.

If you believe the Bible, no. However, if by common sense you figure that the whole "immaculate conception" thing was just made up to get around the social stigma of having a child out of wedlock, then he like was. However, at thirteen, she was hardly a child. There are a lot of thirteen year olds having sex by their own choice. At the time thirteen was probably fairly old to bare a child. Muhammed, the Islam prophet married a girl who was nine and that was several years later. It didn't have the same social stigma it does now.

I have been un able to find any reference to Marys age at the time of her marriage to Joseph. Given the times it would be a safe guess to assume that she was in her early teens. Give your references or beat it.

I think not. Joseph was not the father of Jesus. Also, it was not uncomon for a 13 yo to wed in those days. That was the culture

No, From tadays standards perhaps, people lived shorter life spans back then, the average life span was about 30 to 35, it was rare to live as long as we did now.
People in that culture marry as soon as the girl was of the age to conceive, From YOUR perspective , according to this society it may be deemed as pedihilia, but not then in THAT culture.
In THAT culture is was as normal as getting married at age 18 or 20 or 25 for that matter.

I won't answer for Christianity which I don't know enough about, but his friend Mohammed was married with Aisha at 6-six and went "down on her" her at the old age of 9-nine. Here's from the "Bukari-hadith;"
----
"Narrated 'Aisha:
that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death)."

Now, this was long ago, so it was "different" then, the only problem is that Mohamed is the last and best profet. And we should all follow his example as well as possible yesterday, today and tomorrow..

Cheers,
Samson
