perfume can you smell it?

Question

how many times a day do you put perfume on? i usually put it on in morning but couple of hours later i cant smell anything anymore so i add more and so on through the day.is it just ive become used to it that i cant smell it?i know stronger smelling perfumes the smell would last longer but i find them a bit overpowering(.the perfume im using just now is gucci rush)

You can't smell it yourself because your nose gets used to it (at the risk of bringing the conversation down to scatalogical levels, it's the same effect you get when you're on the toilet : you can't smell your odours after a while but someone else following you can..apologies for the rudeness but it's a good example)

Anyway, other people can smell perfume on you even though you can't. Here in France we do the "bises" (kiss on both cheeks) when meeting for the first time each day, and it often happens that girls say "oh you smell nice what's that aftershave" even late in the afternoon, when I have the impression all the smell has gone.

I wear Armani Blue Jeans.. I like it. I put about 3 sprays on in the morning but thats all.. I can still smell it. I hear that if you use a certain perfume regularly, you should also use the same facewash, shower gel & creams if possible. You will soon start smelling of that fragrance even if you dont spray it on some days!

You get used to the smells around you every 3 minutes. So you can't smell the perfume anymore but others can.
It could just be the case that your skin doesn't go well with that perfume! Seriously, I know I've smelt something on a friend and thought it was gorgeous then put it on myself and it was horrid.

gucci rush is soooo nice.
I have the same prob as you,after say 5 min of putting it on i smell my wrists and cant smell it because as other people are saying we are use to the smell. I re-do in the afternoon by spraying into the air and walking into it so that it dosnt smell too overpowering to everyone.

I was always told you should be-able to smell your own perfume all the time as it means its over powering i use it in the morning only now and when going out in evening im sure thats enough

I wear three different Chanel perfumes - Chance, Coco and No 5. I spray on each side of my neck and both wrists around 07.20 in the morning - it's now 12.20 and I can still smell the coco from this morning. I will still be able to smell it tonight but it will be much fainter. Perhaps the one you are wearing is more subtle?

I usually put perfume on in the morning and again in the afternoon, perfumes that last the longest tend to be eau de parfume and not eau de toilette. as it contains more perfume!....i do have the tendency to over spray as I've grown so used to the smell! but hey i smell good!

Most modern parfumes dont use musk anymore...as the deer that produces the ingredient is now endangered, but they approximate it...but this man made stuff is not as good as holding the smell.....so cheeper made (please not being made on the cheep is not a relfextion of the finish product being cheep) parfumes loose scent quicker.... better made and therefore usually more coslty parfumes are made with better ingredients and tend to be stronger and last longer

A fire cant smell its own smoke!!so if you wanna save money on perfume spray yourself once. i thought that with my cologne and people complimented my smell?so i was like cool i don't have bath in the stuff to keep the smell there!
