These came along with Windows Media Player 11: "XP KB926239, XP MSCompPackV1, XP Wudf01000". Now my Limewire won't run. * "Uninstalling, then reinstalling Limewire won't work, nor does doing the same with the hotfixes. System Restore won't work. I've isolated it enough to know that its NOT AntiVirus, AntiSpyware or Security related. Nor is it to do with advertising components from another program" *.

I would stop trying to use it altogether. You are more than likely only using it for stealing anyway, so now you are better off. Truly a shame it didn't fry your whole computer.

Unless you are using Limewire to download public domain items, then I'd stop using it. More than likely its a messed up registry that will get quite involved attempting to fix.

Downloading copywritten material is illegal, and you might as well go rob a bank. Same crime. Theft.

I don't know much about getting Limewire to work again under those circumstances, but if you can't get it up and running again you can always try BitComet. You get less viruses with that one anyway.
