If you have children, you'll know that at times, they can lose it without any warning. Some children can be an angel most of the time, then a break in their routine or something can turn them into another child lol. I don't believe they should be banned, but parent's should keep their child under control (not running around) and being well looked after/supervised. Also, some children may have something, such as ADHD for example. So these parent's are never aloud out? come on, seriously.

I think they scream their heads off anyway - they just happen to be on public transport at the time. I guess we just have to live with it

Because its fun!! Well as far as they are concerned it is anyway because it is the quickest way to get your attention and that of everyone else around you. As a parent to a 3 year old i know how totally embarrasing and annoying it can be but as difficult as it is the only way that you can get them out of it is to stop paying it attention. Either distract them with a toy/bottle/biscuit etc or "see what we can see outside" depending on their age or just totally ignore it completely if u can manage to. They will soon stop doing it. Alternatively if you pay them your attention and give them a book or summat to look at as soon as you get on the bus/tram/train etc you shouldnt get the problem in the first place.

Because they are free spirits, and do NOT like being restrained by their parents. Also, because they are young, they haven't yet acquired the verbal reasoning skills needed to express thier hatred at being forced to sit still in this small area...and so screaming is their only option.
Remember that the parents get annoyed by it too...

Because public transport sucks and they are not afraid to express their feelings out loud about it. I suspect if we all did that there might be an improvement of public services lol :))

Children cry for a reason. Attentive parents understand this and attend to their needs. This stops the crying (unless the child is ill). Simple. Loving parents equals well-loved, content, secure, serene children.

i work in a shop, and i see it in there everyday, its so embarrasing, they show themselves up more than the kid does them, and they swear at them, which i think is disgusting (i once heard a mother say "put it back you naughty, horrible little c**t", makes you wonder what happens when they get home. and i get some parents that come in and buy 20 cigerettes, four cans lager, then when the kid asks for a sweet they say "no you f*****g cant, i cant afford it", some people shouldnt bother bloody having kids!
