This isn't a problem, as long as it is no added sugar and she is brushing her teeth, she should try and drink less on an evening though, then she will get a better night sleep.

First of all it is so much easier for the people on here to say just don't give in when they are not the ones who will be up all night listening to her screaming. I know how you feel,my dd is two and cannot sleep w/out a sipper of milk which is so bad for her teeth so, I started watering down the milk and so far she hasn't noticed. Maybe you can try to water down her juice and eventually she will be drinking water and that is fine at night . Before you do that maybe you should take her to the Dr. and see if everything is alright with her and the Dr. could also give you some helpful advice. Good luck to you too and hope that you get some sleep.

Wow, thats alot of juice. My son only gets 1 juice box a day (100% juice only). The rest of the day its water. Have you tried watering down the juice that you give her? I know Gerber has prewatered down juices called Splashers. So atleast she won't see you watering it down. Also try making her drink more milk or water during the day. Too much juice is not good especially if it is not 100% juice and has a bunch of added sugar in it .

I agree with the rest of the people that posted answers. She could have diabetes. Sometimes when someone consumes too much sugar, it can induce diabetes earlier in life.

My girl was the same, drank all day long! I advise you to get her to stop. My daughter drank so much she did not eat as much as she was suppose to. She also had a major issue with her teeth. She would get up at night and get herself juice, she would cry and scream that's she was so thirsty and could not go back to sleep. Well after all the dentist bills and missed school for the appointments, I stopped the juice before dinner and at night. I told her that if she was really thirsty at night she could have bottled water(which I left at her night stand). If your girl is always thirsty than explain to her that water also satisfies thirst, so you can protect her teeth.

She doesn't need it. She wants it. If she wakes up through out the night needing a drink then give her water. That much juice isn't good, it can rot her teeth and promote weight problems.

Firstly I think it will be very important for you to assess this. If she is simply drinking a lot because she has salty foods then you will see the cause of this. If not then instead of listening to answers such as "Who is in charge" etc I would take to see a doctor. Excessive thirst can be a symptom of diabetes. I would definitely recommend seeing the doctor in case it is a problem, if the thirst is so bad it's waking her up then it could be medical.
Best of luck to you.

How old is she? She shouldn't drink much before she goes to bed- that will keep you up or getting up a lot. Give her juice earlier , so it has time to go through her before bedtime.

she may think she needs it but she may only be waking thirsty because she does not take in enough through the day .if this is not the case get your doctor to check for diabetes's.

That is certainly not healthy, with the sugar content, amount and the time of day/night she wants it. I would take her in to be tested for diabetes. She has 3 signs of it right there.

She either needs to drink most of it during the morning or you need to start telling her 'no!' She definitely shouldn't drink for al least an hour before she goes to bed.
