lovemycat said it strongly! How can your cat lick all of your meal anyway? If you feel disgusted by it, put the bit she has licked onto her own dish, and get on with the rest! I have trained my cats to never get food from the human dishes, just as I hope humans would not steal food from my cats' dishes. I simply give them what they yearn for on their own dishes. It is a matter of territory and good manners.
Even a Mum cat knows that. Kittens will eat from the same spot communally, but after some time, the Mum will warn them off.
Few things make me feel so good as when my cat washes my face for me with her rough tongue. Cleansing and exfoliation in one dose!
They are incredibly clean animals with antibacterial properties in their saliva. If they are healthy, no problem. If they are sick, still no problem, as zoonoses are rarely spread by saliva because we are a different species. Even if you live in a place where they still have rabies, unless the infected animals punctures your skin, the saliva alone won't do you harm.
And I am one of those old-fashioned types who still give my cats a kiss.
Do share your food with your cat, but put it on a side dish for her in future!
And don't worry that much over a bit of licking!

I could never figure this one out. People will give their kids, who have an upper lip full of nasal excretion a bite of what they are eating, but get all bent out of shape if an animal comes near their food. You can get a case of whatever is making the kid's nose run, but there is nothing a cat can give you from it's saliva.
If you are finicky about it, then don't eat around the cat. If you are just asking, no, the cat cannot communicate any disease to you that way.
It's fun, safe and nice to share.

A cats mouth is not at all clean as I have seen suggested in some of the other answers. It is a horrid mix of nasty germs and any food your cat has licked should NOT be eaten by you, unless you want a tummy upset! And if you let a cat lick an open wound you are asking for a rip roaring infection!!!
Keep her shut away when you are eating, its much safer that way....;

I wouldn't eat anything my cat has licked. Try shutting her out of the kitchen / dining room while you are eating and make sure you cover up any left-overs with a plate while they cool and then put them in the fridge. A cat can't eat what's not there.

Well, it's not the most appetizing thing to eat after your cat. Mine does the same thing and I'm sure I haven't alway caught her. I am still alive and well. I have taken to just taking my plate with me if I have to get up during meals. Yes, it is annoying. I have also began giving her cat treats during meals or if she just keeps on, she gets put in another room till we have finished eating. Good luck!

Not sure if it is "DANGEROUS" per say....but it sure is gross!
You really need to invoke some training to prevent her from doing that...cats CAN be taught right/wrong behavior...but if she's continuing to do it and you are the one paying by throwing out your food...then it sounds like she's "training" you! LOL
Seriously, check w/your local vet or animal obedience trainer to see if they have any suggestions. Maybe try fitting her feeding schedule in with your eating habits so that she has her OWN food to occupy her while you're eating. With the holidays coming and guests, you'd hate for her to do that to one of them.

a cats mouth is allot more health then you would think in fact as an experiment when you get a small cut let the cat lick it see how quickly it heals a cats mouth is very clean even though they lick themselves has something to do with the enzymes in their saliva
so unless your cat is foaming at the mouth i wouldn't worry about it

Make sure your cat is wormed for Toxoplasmosis by a vet, and ask about other types of worm such as tapeworm and toxacara felis while you're there.
Toxoplasmosis can cause pregnant women to miscarry, among other things.

Why is she allowed your food? Does you feed her good, nutritional food, cat food? Of course, any food the cat takes from your plate--throw it away. I would examine the food you give the cat, and maybe there's something better that she would prefer.
