There is a weight restriction on the road I live but it's regularly ignored.Heavy lorries trundle up and down at all times of the day.I've lobbied my local councillors but basically they've washed their hands of the situation - they don't live in the area.Is there anything more I can do - it's basically a shortcut for heavy traffic.

Phone the police on their non emergency number every time a lorry comes down there giving them the time and registration number.

Get your neighbours to do it as well. Keep a log of every one you report.

Keep on at your local council, and the county council, but as far as I'm aware it is simply a police matter now that the weight limit signs are there

The weight limit sign might show for access only,,if so then trucks can use this road to get to delivery points,,if the sign states,,7.5 tonnes,,then nothing over this size and weight can use the road,,again unless is says for access only,,if the sign clearly says NO HGV's,,then it means what it says,,as for local councillors,,they are about as much use as a chocolate fire engine

Speak to the Highways department at your local Council. They should be able to do something if its causing a problem. If other people in your area are also getting frustrated by the situation you could encourage them to conplain, the more people who complain then they are more likely to hopefully do something about it - or at least have a look at the problem.

Organise a blockade and invite the police, the media, and your local government representatives along.

No, try parking vehicles down the road that makes it extreemly difficult for trucks to get by. They'll get the message.....good luck
