I think it is probably hemiplegia - a stroke affecting 1 half of the body. Doctors were very bad at hand writing possibly to disguise their diagnosis.
The stroke could easily cause incontinence hence the diarrhoea. Exhaustion was a term used cover no treatment had been successful.

HEMIPLEGIA - probably a stroke which left one side of his body paralysed. No such word as herniphlegia or hemiphlegia.

It probably says HEMIPHLEGIA which is a stroke or paralysis after a stroke.
