This may shed some light:
10 things to remember when getting married in Las Vegas
Holidays: Keep holidays in mind when choosing your Las Vegas wedding date. Valentine's Day is a hugely popular date for weddings in Las Vegas, and while it might seem romantic, you may change your mind after waiting in line for a wedding chapel for up to five hours. New Year's Eve is another busy wedding day in Las Vegas. It's also party central for tourists, which means your out-of-town wedding guests may have trouble finding a flight or a hotel room unless you book a year in advance. Keep in mind that reception sites also will be booked solid during these holidays.
Weather: Las Vegas has beautiful, sunny weather most of the year. However, even though the summer months are popular for weddings, the weather here can be extremely hot and downright uncomfortable if you're dressed in a tuxedo or a long, heavy gown. The hot sun can melt everything from the bride's makeup to the icing on the wedding cake. Las Vegas temperatures can top the 100-degree mark from May until September. However, temperatures can be pleasant at night, so you might want to think about an evening ceremony if you absolutely must get married during the summer. Check out our weather section for a list of average temperatures.
The dress: Since Las Vegas has no waiting period for getting married, spur-of-the-moment weddings are a common occurrence. So where can you find a wedding dress with only a couple of hours notice? There are several places in Vegas that actually rent wedding dresses. Who wants to spend $2,000 on a dress you're only going to wear once anyway? Oh, and remember the 100-degree temperatures? You might want to pick a dress that's sleeveless.
Legal: Even though Vegas is known for quickie marriages, that doesn't mean you can just waltz off the street into a chapel and get married. There are legal requirements you must meet before being issued a marriage license.
Application: A man and woman who are unrelated and are both at least 18 years old may be issued a marriage license in Clark County. Proof of age may be required. Both must appear at the Marriage License Bureau in the County Courthouse, at 200 S. 3rd Street, 1st floor.
Blood test, waiting periods: In Clark County, blood tests are not required and there is no waiting period.
Fees: $55.00 for a license.
Consent: People ages of 16 and 17 may marry if consent is given in person at time of application by either parent or legal guardian. A certified copy of the birth certificate may be required. Legal guardian must have court order showing proof of legal guardianship. All people giving consent must have proof of identity. Consent is given by notarized affidavit of consent, which must be written in English and contains the birth date of the minor and must state the relationship of person giving consent.
Order of Court for people under age 16: A person less than 16 years of age may marry if either parent or legal guardian files an action, pays all court fees and presents a court order, from a Nevada State Court.
Requirements for divorced people marrying: To obtain a marriage license and have a legal marriage divorces must be final in the state where granted. The date of the final decree and city and state where granted are required.
International marriage information: Couples from outside the United States can be married in Las Vegas. Most countries will want a certified copy of your marriage certificate and an Apostille from the Nevada Secretary of State. The marriage certificate costs $10 and the Apostille costs $20. The Nevada Secretary of State can send the Apostille and certified marriage certificate copy directly to your government for you.
All marriage certificates issued in the state of Nevada must be used within this state.

Witnesses: If you're one of those couples who decide on an unplanned wedding, you might not have any guests in town, which brings up the question of having a witness at your ceremony. Not to worry -- Las Vegas wedding chapels always have someone on hand to serve as a witness for your happy occasion.
Time: If you have your wedding in one of the hundreds of wedding chapels in Las Vegas, don't expect a long ceremony or a lot of quality time in the chapel afterward. Because there are always several weddings scheduled in each chapel every day, you often are allowed only a half-hour of chapel time. Some chapels can be booked for longer times, but you usually end up paying more for those packages.
The official: Most wedding chapels in Las Vegas offer either a civil ceremony or a religious ceremony and provide you with a minister or rabbi. Keep in mind that most chapels don't allow you to bring in an outside minister or other official to perform the ceremony.
Language: What if you come to Las Vegas to get married but you don't speak English? Have no fear. Many wedding chapels in Las Vegas will perform ceremonies in Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese and other languages. Check out our hotel chapel guide to find chapels that offer foreign language ceremonies.
Wacky weddings: Las Vegas is the crazy wedding capital of the world. If you come here to get married, you don't have to have a traditional ceremony. If you're getting married in Sin City, why not make it a wild and crazy experience? Las Vegas wedding chapels offer unique weddings galore. You can get married in a drive-through chapel, get married by Elvis, have a Harley Davidson-themed wedding, get married at the Las Vegas Hilton's Star Trek Experience or even have a nude ceremony. Only in Vegas.
Hair and makeup: If you're from out of town and you're in Vegas for your wedding, you will probably want to find a hairstylist to help you prepare for the big day. Many hotels have salons or spas right on property. You also might want to try a local salon off the Strip. In either case, be sure to book your appointment well in advance and keep those holidays and weekends in mind. The salons can get booked up fast. There also are some services in town that will come directly to your hotel room to fix your hair for your wedding.

Las Vegas is a town that has anything for everyone so find it with hotelbye . Las Vegas is just a town with good attractions and some of those is the famous Las Vegas Strip; where tourists can have a go in the warm leave evening, or have a stroll downtown and view a impressive light show that spans an entire road, the Fremont Street Experience. Guests also can get a glimpse of incredible earth popular re-creations like erupting volcanoes, the Eiffel Tower and the Sphinx of Egypt facing the many lodges and casinos. Las Vegas is just a town that continually reinvents it self, so even if you have already been here before you'll never run out of fun what to do.

According to all the movies and Tv it is very easy----you just waltz in and marry. But I was married (in California) and seem to remember blood-tests being required two days before, and various documents needed.
Surely there is a "Las Vegas Wedding" site to consult on the Net, or The Las Vega County Hall, or dozens of others to tell you what the requirements are. Make sure the marriage is valid world-wide!!

Very easy I did it last year and was the BEST decision I could make. I choose to marry in Ceasers Palace which was fantastic and not at all tacky. Most hotels have a wedding co-ordinator which will sort things out for you and is included in the fee. But keep in mind you will need to tip them and the photographer etc You will need to go to the town hall to get your licence it costs around $50 and gets very busy I spent about an hour queueing up. However its very simple and once you actually see someone you are in and out in 5 minutes. However if I remember correctly you need to be in Vegas at least 24 hours before they can marry you.
I say do it you will have a magical time.

There is no waiting period, and no residency requirement - just turn up at the Marriage Licence Bureau with your i.d. and $55 cash to collect your licence, and you can get married at any of the 71 chapels in town. Do some research on your preferred chapel first though - there's a lot of choice and you don't want to just book with one of the touts outside the bureau.
The website below lets you search every wedding package in Las Vegas by cost and theme/traditional ceremony.
Have fun!

We planned our wedding in a few days there in 2002. We have to go to the city place to apply for a marraige license. After that we look for a place and we booked at Eiffel Tower restuarant and they also arranged for us a minister. We have a sit down dinner for 18 people and we have a seperate room overlooking Ballagio fountain and it was romantic. It was the first wedding for the restaurant. There are many small and also many nice chapels in the theme hotels but we do not have many people to do it there. You can also do a drive in wedding on a car or a limo. Las Vegas is the best place for a wedding since there are so many choices and you can plan it in a few days. And the guests enjoy the place itself and the airfares are cheap for everyone to attend. The license cost us about 50US and the minister cost a bit and dinner ofcourse.

Really easy - just arrive, go to courthouse and fill in forms with your passport, birth ceritificate and decree absolute if you have been married before. Costs about $80 and you will be in and out in no time at all with a license in your hand. You can then go get married anywhere in Las Vegas straight away!

All you need is a valid form of picture id, if you're divorced or widowed the papers to prove it, and the cost of the license and service. The license bureau is open 24/7 and it only takes a few hours to process the license. Unlike other states, there is no waiting period for the license. That is why there are so many quickie weddings in Vegas.

You can be there 5 minutes and get married....just about. The courthouse where you get your marriage license is open 24 hours a day. No blood test required, no waiting time. Obtain the license and you can stop in any one of dozens of chapels on the strip and be married instantly.
