Mulled wine to me it is Christmas especially if it is served on Christmas eve along with a mince pie or two.

Like you satsumas which mysteriously appear in my stocking yes even at a grand old age my family hangs out their stockings somehow the magic still exists.

Then the other thing that is Christmas to me is a traditional plum pudding made from a very old Victorian recipe I found it is delicious.

It's got to be the bird!!! Whether it's turkey or a very overgrown chicken - one of my favourite parts of Christmas is in the evening when you've stuffed yourself to the gills with really unhealthy food, and you bring out the leftovers with the intention of making turkey or chicken sandwiches. Suddenly the full feeling melts away...

Christmas cookies! :)

Some people said turkey and cranberries because that's the only time you have them? Um.. what do you have for Thanksgiving? LOL :) Thanksgiving wouldn't be Thanksgiving without the turkey and pumpkin pie!! :)

Removing almost any item from the Christmas list of foods would not please me. We usually buy everything that's traditional including the Dundee Cake which we are not all that fond of actually, but if you don't have it on the sideboard at Christmas dinner, something is missing.

Sprouts on the dinner, mince pies and cream, and one of those Giant tubes of pringles (the ones where you get 6 o 9 normal tubes in 'em)

Traditional Ukrainian foods like pyrohy (perogies), holubtsi (cabbage rolls), kutia (sweetened boiled wheat with poppyseed). We have these, and other, for our meatless Christmas Eve supper.

i live in Oklahoma, but both my parents are from Ohio and they're big Ohio State fans. my mom always makes these deserts during the holidays where she makes little peanutbutter flavored balls and dips them in chocolate to where the peanutbutter part sticks out just a little and it looks like a Buckeye. they're SO good! but very rich.
