you will know that there's a woman (apparently) who wants my number. I went to see her yesterday, but didn't have the guts to ask for hers. How do I ask for it? I've never had to do it before, so I'm absolutely clueless about what to do. (I'm absolutely clueless about a lot of things, but that's besides the point!!!)

Just talk casually and ask her where she's going at the weekend! Then say "do you fancy going out sometime"? If she sounds interested then just say "give me your number and i'll call you"! Good luck you sound like a nice guy.

You could say something like - I'm sorry but I don't give my number to strangers. It is considerate of you to want to politely turn someone down, but expect that some guys may be agressive and you want to be prepared for anything - when some guys hear no - they take that as a challenge - so it doesn't always work or help to be polite. find your own way of asking this girl out, cause some of the suggestion are being given are good but bruv if your over shy none of these are any good
so in the work of NIKE " JUST DO IT!" and it either sink or swim cause either way you can look back on that and smile if work and laugh if it doesn't

Just ask her out for a drink, its hard asking for a number if your really in to them and don't know her name. Maybe just drop a hint with the girl she works with, girls always gossip so it will get back to her,
Or when you get your hair cut, leave a tip with her with your number inside with the usual call or text me message beside it.

1 wont be enough & niether will 2 , next thing you know your embarrasingly smashed & will probably say something stupid.
coming from the shyest guy ever , just tell yaself ya as entitled as any other bloke to ask , what's the worst she can do ? say no, but she'll probably be that flattered she'll say it was sweet of you to ask

If you know that she wants your number then its obvious that she likes you so just take a deep breath and go for it whats the worse that can happen she can say no, "oh well her loss ".

Make it into a joke then if she likes you she will give you her number, if not you might get a smile which will stand you in good stead for the future... Try "I seem to have lost my phone number, can I use yours....?"

Tell her you have joke that you can send via text and get her number innocently. Then stealthily sneak in there! Either that or take your thumb, reach around your back and press in centre of your back. Do you feel a backbone?
