Can born again christians have demons 'take over' or control them?

Christians cannot be demon possesed as they have Christ living in them and cannot have two masters. But Satan can tempt Christians and try to get them away from God, and when they do rebuke them in the name of Jesus and they will flee. A new Chrisitian can and will be tormented by demons, because they are a threat to them. I should know, as after a became a Christian last year demons would appear to me in visions, and dreams. I even woke up with an auditble voice early last year which said "Do not preach the bible". I have even been punched in the face by them, and lifted up out of my bed in the air, which I was very scared at the time, as I never had anything happen like that before. As you grow as a chrsitian Satan leaves you alone, but only for awhile. He will try again. But all Christians should be strong and not give up and plead the blood of Christ. I have notice that everytime I have rebuked them in the name of Jesus they leave, as the blood of Jesus is very powerful . So to answer your question No Christians cannot be possessed by demons as they can try, they tried 2-3 times to possess me this year, but I called out to God for help and guess what? He did help. They left. And Yes Christians can be played with by demons and harrassed, whether in dreams, visions, auditable voices, anger, not forgiving people swearing illness's etc. Pastors have experienced demons distracting them during a sermon, so yes demons will always try and take you away from God, but like I said you have to plead th blood of Christ. Actually born again christians can be greatly influenced by demons and there is a scripture in the bible speaking about a strong man who come when one is not prepared to being destruction. The key is to put on the wisdom God and suit up putting on the armor of God. This armor is not in tack unless it is all in tack. We have a helmet to protect our mind. We have a breastplate to protect out hearts and a belt of truth to gird our loins (mean observe a chased moral lifestyles). We are told to shod our feet with the Gosple of peace. Means seek to live in Peace. So has given us these instruction to protect us from what and to prepare us for what. Warfare against the enemy. So yes christians can be over taken by demons and they themselfs are to blame because of disobidence to the instruction of GOD.

I don't think that born again Christians can be *possessed* by a demon or demons, because darkness cannot live with light. (Holy Spirit will not share a body with a demon) However, born again Christians can be *oppressed* by demons, and can certainly have demonic strong holds in their minds. For instance, a born again Christian who is a drug addict has a demonic strong hold of addiction in their mind, so on and so forth. But praise be to God, we have weapons that are God given that are mighty, even to the pulling down of strong holds.

It all depends on what you see as demons...i mean, anger can be seen as a demon, and hatred can be sen as a demon...but if you're speaking about the little monsters that work for Satan...then no, we've been set free by Jesus who died on the cross...
For ANY demon to "take you over"..you have to give it right to do that

We came here from some place and are born into this world from there......

We cannot enter the womb a second time according to Christ as replied to Nicodemus.....

But, to be born again requires that life be undone so that we may return from where we came....

i think wherever the Holy Spirit is, like if you have the Holy Spirit in your heart, evil spirits & demons can't call that place 'home' too. so if you stay faithful and keep the Spirit with you you wont have anything to worry about, i think :)
